Irrationality

Our civilisation has become so complex that our ancestors from ten thousand years' back when time travelled to the 21st century would baffle at the trajectory that civilisation took. But even then one thing that never changed is the belief in myths and stories. Even now the majority are forced to think that the universe is a creation of God. Since there are thousands of gods each attributed to different religions, there are thousands of stories about the beginning of the universe. But one thing in common to all the stories is that 'their god' is the hero in it. I remember reading a quote from Rousseau which says “Man is born free but everywhere is in chains.” We can't refute the statement since it's unfortunately true. We all are born free but we cannot survive alone. We aren't self-sufficient. We need the help of other human beings in almost everything we do. Almost in every constitution of the world, we consider 18 as the age someone is considered an adult. So...

Suppressed thoughts and emotions will leak out eventually, sometimes violently. Yet, the rallying cry of modern society is to silence the maverick, cancel the minority, and hide the deranged. It's foolish, for we will continue to experience unfavourable events involving horrific activity unless we provide a welcoming space for people to unload their minds openly. But clearly, many people are unwilling to confront the monster of another, let alone their own.

Capitalism ruined us. We chase the wrong things in life. We are constantly being taught that money/profit is the most important thing in life and having a lot of money implies 'happiness'. Sure, money is important. But after a point, does it worth the hype?  Materialism is ingrained in us. Unveil the illusion.

Apart from paying taxes, how do you contribute back to society? How your presence is beneficial to society? How do you influence the world around you?

Stars, moon, literature, rain, romance, love.... This is what we stay alive for. 💫

Are we doomed?

I often ponder about Life. Like what is the meaning of life? Does our existence in this insignificantly insignificant mote of dust suspended in the sunbeam mean anything? What will happen to the future of Humanity? What could be the possible reason that will pose a threat to the existence of humans? Can another intelligent life sprouts from nowhere or by mere accident and decimate sapiens completely? There are three stages of life: Biological evolution, Cultural evolution and Technological evolution . Or we can simply call it Life 1.0, 2.0, 3.0.  Life 1.0 (for example bacteria) cannot redesign its software and hardware because it is decided by its DNA and the only redesigning that is possible is through generations of evolution. Life 2.0 (for example Humans) can redesign much of its software by learning things such as dancing, singing, programming etc but we have limited scope in altering the hardware. Life 3.0  (which doesn't exist as of now) can redesign its software as ...

World in 2069

"The more unpredictable the world is the more we rely on predictions."    "Future" was always erratic. It's difficult to envision a world fifty or a hundred years from now.  Starting from the core of civilization to technological advancement, everything is erratic. The only constant thing is change. If you time travel to the mid of the 19th century and exchange words with a stranger and tell him that in 2020 we can have a virtual face to face conversation with anyone around the globe, he would contemplate for a while and will regard it as preposterous. He would think in terms of the then technological state and the idea of having a virtual face to face chat with anyone around the globe will be beyond the scope of his thinking. The same goes for people living in 2021. If a time traveller from the early 22nd century tells us that there is no concept of 'life expectancy' and anyone who wishes to be immortal will be able to achieve immortality by paying a pr...
